softness

My name is Gou. The meaning of Gou is ‘strongness.’ But I disliked my name when I was a child. Judo’s famous words is “softness is greater than strongness.” Strongness is weak.  But now I like my name. My father constructed my name as I was a baby.

私の名前は剛です。剛の意味は「強い」です。しかし、子どものとき、私は自分の名前がきらいでした。柔道の有名な言葉は、「柔よく剛を制す」です。「強い」は弱い。しかし、今は私は私の名前が好きです。私の父は、私が赤ん坊のとき、私の名前を作った。
